Holocaust literature : Schulz, Levi, Spiegelman and the memory of the offence

The works of Bruno Schulz, Primo Levi and Art Spiegleman are examined in this evaluation of the dynamics of memory in relation to representations of the Holocaust. The compulsion to remember, the dilemmas of representation and the relationship between memory, knowledge and belief are examined.
