Training to Teach Adults English

Proficiency in English language and literacy is increasingly seen as a requirement for success in education and employment. Training to Teach Adults English is an accessible text supporting trainee teachers and their teacher educators on initial teacher education programmes that cover or are focused on teaching/training in adult literacy and ESOL. The text presents a thorough grounding in the professional teaching of literacy and ESOL, including a focus on teaching the four skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking; the teaching and learning cycle; language knowledge; and curriculum design.
