Brain corticosteroid receptors : studies on the mechanism, function, and neurotoxicity of corticosteroid action

Bok av E R De Kloet
Many psychiatric and neurological disorders have a genetic background, but it is unknown how the genes involved are regulated and expressed. It is recognised, however, that brain corticosteroid hormone receptors are extremely important in regulating the expression of genes involved in normal and pathological brain function. This text focuses primarily on these receptors acting as gene transcription factors in the control of brain chemistry, function and pathology. It contains papers presented at a conference held in Arlington, Virginia, USA on 2nd-5th March, 1994.
