Nîmes at war : religion, politics, and public opinion in the Gard, 1938-1944

This work is a local study of wartime France under the Vichy regime that considers resistance and collaboration within the context of everyday life. Concentrating on the city of Nimes, it examines wartime reports, official departmental documents, local secular and religious newspapers and letters.
