CURRENT THEMES IN ENGINEERING SCIENCE 2008: Selected Presentations at the World Congress on Engineering—2008

Bok av Alexander M. Korsunsky
Behavior of mechanical systems and advanced materials is described using mathematical tools and characterized experimentally across multiple scales. Size effects and scaling transitions are discussed, and applications are presented of the functional form of description. The examples are diverse, and cover topics from natural fiber composites to nano-particles to brittle fracture of rock under impact loading.
