The 5th edition of Glossary of Biotechnology and Agrobiotechnology Terms will be a significant expansion of the previous 4th edition. In the past decade, many new terms have been introduced due to the appearance and application of new crop plant breeding methods as well as technical advances in genetics, molecular biology, cell biology and agricultural research. The terms associated with important new technologies have been added to this new edition including terms related to Zinc Finger Proteins, Transcription Activator-Like Effectors (TALEs), TALE Nucleases, Genome Editing, CRISPR/Cas 9 Gene-editing Systems, Oligonucleortide-mediated Mutagenesis, and RNA Interference, as well as hundreds of others.
