Bok av Heather Munn och Lydia Munn
Fifteen-year-old Magali lives in "free" France where everyone goes about pretending it's life as usual. Yet, many of Magali's refugee friends displaced from their homes and forced into hiding from the Nazis and Vichy collaborators, are anything but free. Magali can't understand why no one, not even God, does anything. Then Paquerette arrives in town, a courier transporting the very small numbers of children she and her organization have persuaded the Nazis to release from the concentration camps. Magali has found the purpose she craves. But In her efforts to save at least a few children from certain death, will her brash words and actions demonstrate courage and maturity beyond her years or a naivete that will bring danger to those she loves?
