Painting the Map Red: Canada and the South African War, 1899-1902

Bok av Carman Miller
More than 7000 Canadian soldiers participated in the Anglo-Boer War and for almost three years the Canadian public was mesmerized by events in South Africa. This text examines Canada's involvement in the Anglo-Boer War and the effect on the country, from the rancorous pre-war debate on the wisdom of Canadian participation through the soldier's experiences in the field to the public's perception of the war and how it altered Canadian opinion, politics and military development.
