Memoirs from Elsinore

Bok av Franz Hellens
As far as translator Howard Curtis knows, this is the first novel by Francophone Belgian writer Hellens (1881-1970) to be rendered into English. First published as Memoires d'Elseneur in 1954, it is a prime example of his fantastic realism as he carries his protagonist through a series of adventures ranging from down-to-earth to extravagantly bizarre. Though quite popular during his lifetime, Hellens has dropped into obscurity since.
