Their Hearts Burned

At the end of Luke's Gospel two disciples, walking towards the village of Emmaus, met a figure whom they did not immediately recognise. This man explained to them how the whole Old Testament spoke of Jesus. When he left them they asked one another, "Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked?" They had been in the presence of the Risen Lord. Kevin O'Donnell explains how each of the Old Testament books speaks of Jesus.
