'Other' Austrians

A collection of essays on 15 Austrian women writers. Perspectives are brought to bear on some of the more established names and theoretical frameworks mobilized to review some of their thematic and formal concerns. Other contributors provide early readings of late-20th century works by Austrian women or of writings by lesser known authors. The volume should present a sense of some of the many connections in post-1945 women's writing. It also conveys something of the multifaceted nature of women's writing in general and of the important place occupied by Austrian women's writing more specifically.
