Women in the American Revolution

This popular anthology of letters, journals, eyewitness accounts, poetry, and illustrations tells the story of the colonial women and wives of the British and Hessian forces who contributed to the war effort. Most women carried on with their daily tasks at home, but many took action by boycotting British goods or following their men into war -- as cooks, nurses, and care-givers.
