Originally published in 1904, this book presents a critical discussion of the Book of Ecclesiastes, with additional notes on select passages and an English translation. The text was written with two key aims in mind: 'firstly, to disentangle the strands which go to form the 'three-fold cord' of the writing; and secondly, to estimate the position which Koheleth occupied with regard to the religious and philosophical thought of his day'.
