Cortex and Mind

Bok av Joaquin M. Fuster
This book presents a comprehensive synthesis of current cognitive neuroscience written by one of the world's authorities in the field. It is structured over a broad theoretical and empirical base. Five major cognitive functions, perception, memory, attention, language, and intelligence, are systematically analysed from the perspectives of neurobiology and cognitive science. The author concludes that knowledge is represented in complex systems of overlapping and intersecting neural networks of the cerebral cortex. These cognitive networks are highly specific, defined by relations and neural connections. Cognitive functions consist of neural transactions within and between those networks.
