SIPRI Yearbook 1993 : World Armaments and Disarmament

Bok av Stockholm International Peace Research Institute
The SIPRI Yearbook 1993 highlights the link between environmental questions and resource scarcity and international security and emerging armed conflicts, and describes the new United Nations peace-making and peace-keeping efforts. It analyses the new security arrangements for Europe and implementation of the 1990 CFE Treaty. It examines the post-Soviet threats to security and reports on the work of the UN Special Commission to inspect and destroy Iraq's nuclear, biological, chemical and missile capbilities. The Yearbook continues SIPRI's review of the latest developments in nuclear weapons and examines the US-Russian START II Treaty, nuclear test explosions, world military expenditure, the international arms trade and arms production, chemical and biological weapons, major armed conflicts in 1992, and conventional arms control in Europe.
