A story based on Mayan folklore, and followed by notes giving information on Mayan history and culture. A young Mayan ball-player defies the priest's prophecy of a drought in the year ahead, and challenges the rain-god to a game of pok-a-tok. The text is accompanied by cut-paper illustrations.
