Rural Sustainable Development in America

With the decline in rural population from forty percent at the turn of the century, to about 4 per cent now, many small towns have been virtually depopulated. However, some communities are planning and taking action to assure their development in sustainable ways. This book records the problems and successes that rural communities have experienced, and it is a tool for planners and concerned citizens in other communities to use in taking charge of their own future.
