Clinical Approaches to the Mentally Disordered Offender

This volume opens with a discussion of the conceptual issues that relate mental disorder to criminal behaviour. The first section covers law provisions, giving the legal classifications for the mentally disordered offender, including psychopathy, mental illness and mental handicap. In the following sections of text, the themes of clinical assessment and intervention for these three main groups are explored, with details of practice, settings in which the intervention takes place and the clinical programmes available.
