Our country seems to be unique, even among other highly industrialized countries, in viewing the elderly as a social problem. Forget about stereotypes regarding senior citizens-seniors are far from obsolete. They are one of our country's greatest and most valuable resources, and we need to reevaluate our attitude toward them.
