No Chocolates for Sheila

Bok av Kathleen S O'Brien
The Great Depression made an indelible mark on the lives of eight children born in the 1920's and 1930's to Dan, Railway Worker, and Sheila, who migrated from India at the age of six in 1909.The family's life, often difficult, was interspersed with joyous interludes.Living in beautiful rural areas of New South Wales, the worries of the outside world evaporated - UNTIL - their harmonious existence was stilled by overwhelming tragedy. Already deprived of the luxuries of life, this event assured that there would now be "No Chocolates for Sheila" or her family.
