A Calendar of Cornish Glebe Terriers 1673-1735

Bok av Richard Potts
Glebe terriers were records of the property and endowments of each parish, designed to prevent Church lands and possessions from being alienated to lay owners. They include descriptions of glebe land, the parsonage and its furnishings, parish boundaries and charities, as well as inventories of church goods. These records from seventeenth- and eighteenth-century Cornwall, calendared with an introduction, therefore tell us much about the Church in the county, and about the relations between clergy and laity.
