What's Important : Understanding and Working with Values Perspectives

We have introduced and described values and how tounderstand their assessment, two responses kept recurring. The first issome version of, "Wow. This is profound and powerful. Now I reallyunderstand what is happening." The second is something like, "This isgreat, but I'm overwhelmed. This is just too much to try and keep trackof." In large part, our reason for writing this book is to address those tworesponses. People are used to the idea of working with behaviors, butvalues can seem intangible. Yet values are more powerful in daily lifethan most people consciously recognize. Even when we do acknowledgethe power of values, it is hard to know what exactly to do both about themand with them. Our intent is to provide a handbook for understanding andworking with values.
