The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is a scientific agencywithin the United States Department of Commerce focused on the conditions ofthe oceans the atmosphere. NOAA warns of dangerous weather, charts seas andskies, guides the use and protection of ocean and coastal resources and conductsresearch to improve understanding and stewardship of the environment. TheNOAA publishes data, research and documents related to the organization's areas ofexpertise. Some of these publications include Storm Data.Storm Data (SD) monthly publications contain a chronological listing, by states, ofstorm occurrences and unusual weather phenomena. Reports contain informationon storm paths, deaths, injuries, and property damage. An "Outstanding storms ofthe month" section highlights severe weather events with photographs, illustrations,and narratives. Storm Data began in 1959 and is published with a single U.S. issueeach month. This document is one of these Storm Data publications.
