Food Supply for the Civilian Population in the American Area During the Military Occupation of Germany by the Armies of the Allied and Associated Powers

This paper is a critical analysis of the methods adopted and the means used by the American Military Government in Germany to assure for the civilian population under its jurisdiction an adequate supply of food. The study discusses briefly the modern concept of military government, bringing out one of the important obligations of such a government toward the civilians under its jurisdiction, and shot the manner in which the American Military Government discharged that obligation in Germany following the World War.
