Life in the Soudan (Illustrated Edition)

Adventures Amongst the Tribes, and Travels in Egypt, in 1881 and 1882. The author served as Surgeon-Major in the Imperial Ottoman Army from 1876-77 and so held the post of medical officer on this exploratory expedition to the Soudan. This account was written in what spare time he had away from his official duties, with details of the journey itself taken from his diary, and the illustrations were enhanced from his own sketches. First published in 1884, with seven illustrations and a facsimile of the original cover.
