Uncanny Stories (Illustrated Edition)
Bok av May Sinclair
May Sinclair was the pseudonym of Mary Amelia St. Clair (1863-1946), a popular British writer of novels, short stories and poetry who was an active suffragist and member of the Woman Writers' Suffrage League. She was also a significant critic in the area of modernist poetry and prose and is attributed with first using the term 'stream of consciousness' in a literary context when reviewing Dorothy Richardson's Pilgrimage in 1918. First published in 1923, this was the first of her two volumes of supernatural fiction, the other being The Intercessor and Other Stories (1931), and she was widely praised for her contribution to the genre. This edition includes 21 full-page illustrations by the Belgian writer and artist Jean de Bosschere, with others integrated throughout the text.
