AlMaatouq Manual of Diabetes Practice

This manual is an explicit depiction of an actual medical professional practice. The emphasis is on individualization of care by bridging the gap between academic guidelines and actual patient care on the ground. 250 illustrations highlight day to day diabetes management protocols, both diagnostic and therapeutic. The graphics are simple, spontaneous and self explanatory, obviating the need for textual information. Real life encounters with patients having T1DM, T2DM or GDM are detailed from initial presentation with hyperglycemia to prearranged quarterly and annual visits and all other encounters in between. In-patients with diabetes are followed from admission assessment till discharge planning. We invite our colleagues to test, appraise and criticize the protocols. We appreciate their input and value their suggestions of better alternatives that they could come up with. Our goal is to enhance our practice and contribute to the wellbeing of our patients.
