Kate Muldoon : For The Defense
Bok av Liz Mathews
The paparazzi dubbed Kate Muldoon the 'Defense Counsel to the Stars.' She built her successful legal career representing high-profile clients who forgot the rule of law applies to them, no matter how rich and famous they become. Kate's clients include actors, singers, athletes, and the men and women who occupy the C-suites in large corporations across the country. Kate is smart, savvy, determined, hard-driven and super successful - in her professional life; her personal life is an entirely different story. Kate's workload has maxed out. She is currently defending Frank Hanson, a past-his-prime actor with a well-earned reputation as a misogynistic racist, who is currently charged with numerous felonies, including attempted murder. Kate also represents Julie Moon, one of Hollywood's newest blonde beauties, who is talented, but dumber than a stump. Juile is charged with possession and use of cocaine in a public restaurant. Phil Bentley, Jr., the 16-year-old son of Kate's largest corporate client, is another of her current clients facing criminal charges. Junior is charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine to his fellow students at the elite high school he attends. Just as her workload meter reaches the "totally out of control" range, Kate is abandoned by yet another associate, and her soon-to-be-ex husband decides to challenge the terms of the post-nuptial agreement Kate insisted he sign after his second trip down infidelity lane. In a moment of weakness Kate begins an affair with her widowed neighbor and friend, Bill Davis, a former pro quarterback. But Kate's momentary brush with personal happiness appears to be short-lived when Bill proposes and Kate, who has sworn off marriage forever, declines and Bill is unable to accept Kate's decision. As she usually does when her personal life spins out of her control, Kate throws herself further into her work; but wonders if she has made the right decision.
