She is a graduate of San Francisco State University in San Francisco, California, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology, with a minor in Criminal Justice. Her 20 years of service in the Oceanview Merced Height Ingleside Community of San Francisco, CA included: "I Have a Dream" Foundation, the Seven Principles Project, the Southwestern Neighborhood Improvement Group, and operated her own bail bonds business in San Francisco. Later on, the Holy Spirit led her to attend Bible college, where she earned a ministerial certificate,with emphasis in Urban Ministry, from the School of Urban Missions in Oakland, California, and an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity from Pneuma Theological Seminary in Oakland, California. Dr. Monique Mortonand her husband, Elder Kwanza Morton, are two of thefounders of About My Father's Business Ministry, a non-profit that teaches and trains people on prayer and intercession. She says, "Our vision is to be a repairer of the breach and see prayer and intercession restored in our communities, schools, homes, and churches by teaching and training those called to the ministry." Isaiah 58:12 "And you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach, The Restorer of the Streets to Dwell In."
