Fiscal Evaluation in IMF-supported Programs

Bok av Imf Independent Evaluation Office
This publication examines the fiscal adjustment strategies in IMF-supported programmes, based on data analysis covering 133 programmes operating in 70 countries and supplemented by a more detailed study of 15 specific programmes. It considers aspects of controversy including the criticism that the 'one size fits all' approach does not take sufficient account of the constraints and circumstances of individual economies.
