Nicaea : City of Decisions

In this historical fiction story, skeptical Timotheus is drafted to accompany the local Christian bishop to the Nicene Council in 325 AD/CE. Walk with him as he walks the rural paths and ancient Roman roads from Macedonia to Nicaea in Bithynia. Listen in on the over-the-road conversations. Be with him through threatening roadside adventures and amazing fellow-travelers. Walk with him and his bishop into the Nicene Council, where he encounters Emperor Constantine and more than 300 bishops, struggling with "right doctrine." Ponder with him the theological jargon and exact wording required by the church fathers, as they form the Apostles' Creed. Face with him the "dark night of the soul" brought on by the Emperor's outrageous ban of the disagreeing "heretics." Wonder then, with Timotheus, at the struggling, agonizing human decisions that must be made as Christ prepares His church to be an effective world religion.
