Lainie's Fun in the Sun

The Curtis family moves from Ohio to Brooklyn, New York, separating best friends Lainie and Sheri. Sheri O'Malley and her mother, Cathy, travel to New York in the summer of 1956, and end up staying there through New Year's. How will the two families survive the multiple mishaps that befall their lives - the abuse of Lainie, the fire that roars through the Curtis' church, the slicing of Lainie's father's hand while cooking? Fortunately, the good outweighs the bad, as they enjoy 1950's television shows of "The Little Rascals" and "Captain Kangaroo."
