End Game and Pretty Girl
Bok av Dr Keith Morrison
End Game is a story about two friends who both ended up traveling down separate paths but both found a way to achieve a common goal. Rashan and Deron are exposed to real life situations that adolescents face every day in urban, inner city environments and manage to make it out unscathed. Many never make it out, some live above the influence, and some are just lucky. Sometimes we just need a reason and an opportunity to do better. Neither are guaranteed. Some people can be told right from wrong and take heed. Others need to experience mistakes for themselves before they learn anything. If they are fortunate, they may have an opportunity to recover from those mistakes and change for the better. If they are fortunate their mistakes won't cost them their lives.
Pretty Girl is a story about how easy accepted those considered to be beautiful are accepted in our society. It seems that beauty can be a gift and a curse at the same time. Some people are so much more than beautiful but who really takes out the time to get past the superficial and get to know someone? True beauty will always come from within. The positive impact we have on all those we encounter is what makes us beautiful. Denise hated that she was always accepted because of her looks and wanted to be appreciated for who she was and not how she looked. Being pretty burdened her with proving she was much more.
