How would you react to the discovery that your only living blood relative was the perpetrator of a heinous crime? That is the dilemma Mary Carol finds herself in when she stumbles upon the fact that her bother is responsible for the abduction of a twelve-year-old named Lance. As she attempts to help the boy, Mary Carol forms an intense bond with him.
