Trusting Records in the Cloud : The creation, management, and preservation of trustworthy digital content

Published in association with the Society of American Archivists Trusting Records in the Cloud presents key findings of InterPARES Trust, an international research project that has investigated issues of trust in, and trustworthiness of records and data online, with respect to privacy, accessibility, portability, metadata and ownership. The project has produced theoretical and methodological frameworks for the development of local, national and international policies, procedures, regulations, standards and legislation, to ensure public trust grounded on evidence of good governance, strong digital economy and persistent digital memory. Dr Luciana Duranti is Professor of archival theory, diplomatics and the preservation of digital records in the master's and doctoral archival studies programs of the School of Library, Archival and Information Studies at the University of British Columbia. She has been Director of the InterPARES research project since 1998 and is Director of the Centre for the International Study of Contemporary Records and Archives (CISCRA). Dr Corinne Rogers was Project Coordinator for InterPARES Trust (2013-2019). She is currently an adjunct professor in the School of Library, Archival and Information Studies at the University of British Columbia, teaching Digital Records Forensics. She is Systems Archivist at Artefactual Systems where she provides quality assurance testing, requirements analysis, documentation, and training for Artefactual's AtoM and Archivematica projects for digital preservation and access.
