Jaime McCloud has been on the job for four months when she saves a group of teenagers from a burning building. As a reward, she gets to ditch her uniform and work 'plainclothes' in Midtown Manhattan. The tall, beautiful redhead gets noticed by cops and criminals alike but her calm self-confidence and quiet nature confuse those who suspect she got promoted based on her looks. When she arrests a federal agent, however, she threatens to ruin an expensive undercover operation. To make up for it, she's drafted in to help, and must dye her hair blonde and assume the position of a 5th Avenue model. Tomboy Jamie despises the high heels, slinky dresses and sexy bikinis she has to pose in, but finds herself darkly thrilled by her new partner, Danny Lucas. Lucas is a DEA agent with broad shoulders and a controlling attitude who makes her legs go rubbery even as he irritates her. Jamie has finally found a man tougher and stronger than she is and has no idea how to handle him. Meanwhile, narcotics are flooding the modelling world, and it's their job to find out who's behind it.
