Industrial Water Quality Requirements for Reclaimed Water

Bok av D. Rommelmann
Reclaimed water systems are more appealing, both economically and operationally, to a utility if customers with year-round water demands are part of the system. There has not been a great deal of information available to utilities on the water quality requirements for various industrial, commercial, and environmental water use. AwwaRF funded this study to provide a document that summarizes water quality requirements for industrial uses of reclaimed water. This study specifically excluded irrigation and groundwater recharge applications of reclaimed water because these uses have been extensively addressed in a wide variety of literature. This study provides the starting point for utilities planning a new or expanded reclaimed water system. Utilities need to supplement this information with direct contact of potential users. This area of study should be revisited as industrial customers of reclaimed water systems become more common. Originally published by AwwaRF for its subscribers in 2004.
