Insularity and Development : International Perspectives on Islands

This text explores the strengths and weaknesses of insularity as a factor which encourages and constrains the development of island societies and economies. It looks at the ambiguities inherent in the concept of insularity and provides a variety of integrated and illustrative case studies.
