Diary of an Edwardian School : Slade School the First 100 Years

Bok av Maurice R Western
Slade School has gone through many life-changing moments, since it was first given birth in 1904. From the euphoria of success to the heartache of loss, the school has continued to endure, underterred by the educational changes that have been thrust upon it through the ages. It is to be hoped that, captured within these pages, all scholars may learn, in as entertaining a way as possible, the life of a school as events unfold through the disparate decades of the twentieth century. In 1985, following the theft of a computer in a break-in, it was said that the quality of the school was the spirit of the people within; that 'you can't steal people's spirits'. Today, as we move forward into the second century, Slade School continues to be a genial, cheerful, vibrant and diverse community, working as ever for the benefit of all the pupils that should pass through its portals.
