Weybridge Past

Weybridge was a sleepy, isolated rural village dominated throughout the Middle Ages by the great Abbey at Chertsey. King Henry VIII shattered its obscurity by building a Royal Palace at Oatlands, which brought the bustle of the Court for a century, until it was destroyed after the Civil War.
