Beowuff and the Horrid Hen

The first episode of an ancient saga, from a newly discovered manuscript in an previously unknown language: Dog Viking Banished from his homeland (for helping enemy raiders loot his chief's bone hoard), Beowuff finds himself shipwrecked on a troubled island whose people's king needs a champion. The king's Great Feasting Kennel is under attack from the hideous Hendel--an evil chicken of monstrous proportions. Can Beowuff save the day? Beowuff's adventures might sound familiar to history lovers, because they echo the ancient tale of Beowulf (1000 A.D.), one of the earliest recorded poems in Old English.
