Walks in the Peak District Limestone Dales

Bok av Des Marshall
The Limestone Dales of the Peak District are home to some of the most beautiful scenery in Britain. This guide describes 35 walks between 2 miles and 10 miles long all of which are circular or lollipop! Of the 82 Dales 60 are visited in whole or in part with the others either having no access or have busy roads through them. Each walk has an identity of its own with very diverse scenery that ranges from wooded slopes, tumbling pretty rivers that sometimes disappear whilst others emerge from a dark forbidding cave, to mining history, the occasional soaring pinnacle, secret caves and some not quite so secret! Many of the walks pass by or are very close to pubs and cafes that offer refreshments at the start, part way or at the end of the walk.
