Healing with Spirit: 160 Years of New Thought in America

Bok av Ruth L. Miller
For some people the words "these things and greater shall you do," ascribed to Jesus in the New Testament, have been taken literally. For these people, the Gospels of the New Testament are a manual for living-and healing. These people are part of a movement that, today, includes thousands of churches as well as many schools and publishing houses. This is the story of the founders and leaders of that movement, people who dared to heal themselves and others, then went on to teach many more how to do the same, by releasing old thoughts and replacing them with new ones. It's an exploration of what they did and how they did it, an attempt to understand why and how hundreds of thousands of people have experienced relief from troubling symptoms and situations in their presence. It's also an exploration of recent developments in science relating to the processes and ideas that these people have used and taught over the past nearly 200 years - insight that may provide a model for therapies of the future.
