So You Think God Has Called You to Be a Pastor : What Pastors, Pastors -To-Be, Elders or Anyone in a Congregation Should Look for in the Leadership of Their Church

Bok av Terry Witte
God, for whatever reason, has graciously involved me in a number of different ministries during my Christian walk. I experienced many church-related situations where I didn't truly understand or recognize why things were the way they were. Unfortunately, I have seen some of those in leadership position fail for one reason or another and I ask myself "why would educated, well-meaning, Christian men leave the ministry or why doesn't their church grow?" After many years of being involved in various ministries, I have come up with the conclusion that it does not have to be the case. It appears to me that most of the time when things don't work out, it all goes back to the leadership's ability to make good biblical decisions concerning the church and their role in it. I wrote this book in hopes that it could be used as a positive tool for anyone in leadership to evaluate their own walk and possibly even help those fellow leaders who may be struggling in their efforts to fulfill their calling. It is also a possible type of resource for a new, or a pastor-to-be, made aware of some of the pitfalls Satan has used to destroy other pastors and churches that have gone before them. Over the years I have been asked by various Christians as to what they should be looking for in a biblically-based church? This book will help them evaluate which church they might want to become a member of. I don't claim to have all the answers to the many problems the church faces in today's dark world. I do want to pass on some possible ways to avoid and handle some of the everyday challenges those who minister in it will be faced with, things I wish I knew before I started to actively serve in leadership. This book is filled with true life stories of how God has worked in my life to refine and guide me so I could be of help to others in like situations to survive the spiritual battle we are all in.
