Morning Mercies : 365 Poems to Celebrate God's Love

Bok av Patsy Bunton
"When I awoke this morning, A new year had begun; A year of special memories Given to me by God?s Son." And so begins the opening stanza of Patsy Bunton?s debut collection of published poetry, "Morning Mercies." The poems in this book were handwritten by the author in her journal and intended as a gift to her grandson, but her writings touch on many of the universal truths we all hold in common: love of God, love of family and an appreciation for the simple joys of life that our Savior provides. While not necessarily intended as a daily devotional, Bunton says this collection may be used as such ?if the reader finds in these words a source of inspiration from the same Creator who inspired me to write them. I pray my words will be used to bring glory to God and a smile to the reader. ?Since I was old enough to write, God has inspired me to do so. When God speaks, I have to pen the words.? Born Patricia Helen ?Patsy? Eidson on May 12, 1946, the author grew up in Graniteville, South Carolina. Her father died when she was nine years old, and she received Christ as her Savior the same year. She graduated from Leavelle McCampbell High School in 1964 and was married that same year. Her husband died at age 46. She later remarried, and she and her husband live on a small farm in Aiken County, South Carolina. She received an LPN degree from Aiken Technical College after having worked many years as a lab technician and certified medical assistant and having desired to earn a nursing degree.
