Based on source material from about 1300 excavations of various periods and regions, this text investigates the evolution of the domestication of animals in Central Europe and Southern Scandinavia. The findings are presented chronologically according to the archaeological timeline - Neolithic, Bronze Age, Iron Age, Roman Empire and the Middle Ages.
