This bibliography contains all the dramas and theatrical pieces spoken or sung printed and/or performed in the territory of the German Empire and Switzerland from 1700 to 1799 together with their translations, adaptations and reprints, and in addition all printed foreign-language works as long as they were performed and/or published in the territory of the then German Empire. In addition, it provides evidence of the titles and performances of works performed but not published insofar as these can be established from repertoire documents, contemporary reviews, periodicals etc or from research into regional or theatrical history. The prints are described up to the first page of text. All entries are based on personal observation.
