Wolfram von Eschenbach's Parzival is characterized by a complex web of interrelationships and reflections. Equivalent structures create interpretive connections, which are at the same time subverted. The study describes these connections as paradigmatic structures and examines their function of destabilizing cultural meaning along with their impact on the conception and specific poetics of the romance as a whole.
