»The Scope of Fundamental Rights in Public Enforcement of EU Competition Law«The thesis examines the relationship between public enforcement of EU competition law and the fundamental rights enshrined in the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights and the European Convention on Human Rights. After establishing that penalties imposed by the Commission for cartel infringements should be considered criminal in nature, the thesis analyzes how the scope of fundamental rights applicable to competition law enforcement should be expanded to account for an effective legal protection of the addressees of EU competition law enforcement.
