»The Compatibility of Capacity Mechanisms with the Free Movement of Goods, European State Aid Law and the Internal Energy Market«German energy transition with its switch from fossil fuels to renewable energies might result in the implementation of a national capacity mechanism. The study contains a description of different capacity models as well as a legal analysis of their compatibility with European law. It is shown that under certain requirements a national capacity mechanism may be consistent with European provisions.
